Unlike Maths and English, Verbal Reasoning (VR) and Non-verbal Reasoning (NVR) are subjects not generally taught as part of the school curriculum and a certain level of understanding of Maths and English must be reached before pupils begin to learn Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning skills. This is why we do not give access to the VR and NVR tests until the pupil is 15 months away from their 11+ exam. 15 months is ample time to prepare for Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, we recommend that up to that point in time pupils work on our Maths and English tests both of which will help them prepare for VR and NVR tests.
